The Access 4 Learning (A4L) Community, and its special interest group the Student Data Privacy Consortium (SDPC), is a unique, non-profit collaboration composed of schools, districts, local authorities, states, US and International Ministries of Education, software vendors and consultants.  The Community is “Powered by SIF” as its major technical tool to help manage learning data simply, securely and in a scalable, standard way regardless of platform. The SDPC is designed to address the day-to-day, real-world multi- faceted issues faced when protecting learner information by setting common expectations between market providers and end users.  The A4L Community has united these education technology end users and providers in an unprecedented effort to ‘connect and secure effective learning ecosystems’ to give teachers more time to do what they do best: teach.

Overview:

The A4L Community is seeking an experienced professional, with Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field, to be the next Executive Director of the Community. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with an understanding of data privacy regulations, data protection practices, cybersecurity and interoperability standards to shape the Community’s strategic and financial plan as it looks towards the future. 

To succeed in this role, the Executive Director will be a highly collaborative partner who is organized, strategic, process-oriented, and adept at people, finance and project management. Working in collaboration with the Association Board of Directors, the Executive Director will identify and secure funding for the Community; support the development of program, tools and publications on behalf of Community Members; monitor budgets ensuring financial sustainability; research potential funding opportunities; establish metrics and key performance indicators to assess the impact and success of the organization’s programs and initiatives; and lead a diverse team of professionals dedicated to achieving the organization’s goals.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time staff, exempt position with an annual salary range of $180,000-$230,000. A compensation offer is based on relevant years of experience in relation to the position.  We provide all full-time employees with a competitive benefits package that includes comprehensive medical, dental and vision plans, short- and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance, and 401k.
