The National Center for Education Statistics is pleased to announce the release of Common Education Data Standards (CEDS) Version 11 at: https://ceds.ed.gov.
The version 11 standards include new data definitions and updated data models to support additional use cases across P20W.
This major version of CEDS includes:
• 23 new elements including:
◦ 3 new Adult Education elements
◦ 4 new Career and Technical elements
◦ 3 new Facilities elements
◦ 5 new Early Learning elements
◦ 1 new Assessments element
◦ 4 new Postsecondary elements
◦ 19 new K12 elements
· Including 2 EDFacts reporting elements and 8 elements to support financial reporting
• 167 updated elements including:
◦ 264 context updates in the CEDS Domain Entity Schema to support new use cases involving 166 elements (new and updated)
· 263 context additions
· 1 context removal
◦ 221 option changes involving 41 elements (new and updated)

· The terminology “Limited English Proficient” is no longer used to refer to English Learner students.
